A Sun-Powered City for the Sunshine State

Florida Power and Light is teaming up with a real estate company to build the first solar-powered city.

The facility will be the world’s largest, at 350 acres. Developer Kitsch & Partners hopes the community will demonstrate that sustainable living is not just feasible but economically practical.

Myers residents believe the concerns of wildlife, and not just people, need to be considered when planning for development and growth. Seventy-six percent of those polled added the natural environment is very important to the quality of their life.
