Phoenix Zoo Gives Red Squirrels a Hand

What Can You Do?

One of the squirrel’s greatest enemies are humans. Natural wildfires occur, unfortunately most raging across Arizona were manmade. Wildfires that occurred in 1996 and 2004 continued an unstable cycle of distress from which the squirrels have never recovered. As with much environmental distress, how we live ripples into the lives of wildlife and their environment. Simply put, extinguishing campfires completely and leaving no trace at campsites is a grand step toward change. But Arizona, is not the only place working to save the red squirrel. Red Squirrels in the U.K. have eco-supporters looking out for them as well. It’s important than to leave  as few carbon footprints as possible. Carrying over the idea of leaving no trace in all areas of our lives, not just when camping.
