Louisiana Judge Martin Feldman, who inexplicably lifted the ban on offshore drilling last week, is significantly invested in BP, Transocean, and many other companies that are directly involved in offshore drilling. The U.S. District judge’s dividend checks are directly dependent upon the case that he decided to benefit oil companies. Isn’t this supposed to be illegal? Can you say “conflict of interest”? WTF?
Dr. Rachel Maddow explains the extent of Judge Feldman’s numerous investments in the petroleum industry:

Hammer Time…
Time to nail Feldman’s ass to the wall; this story has literally incensed me! Keep up the good work. I went to last weekend’s Sierra Club gathering to show solidarity for the victims – moreover, to shine a light on Martin’s myopic lunacy. What a jerk!

My Retort Being (in a letter to the editor):

Rash and heavy handed? ‘Beg pardon, your Honor? If I may request something of you, it would simply be this: leave your penchant for inductive logic and reasoning at you personal residence; or better yet, to the antiquated, yellowed pages of your Sherlock Holmes series of children’s novels. My god, sir, drop the megalomania trip you’re on and welcome to the real world.
What unadulterated arrogance to be so deluded that the mere fact you adorn yourself in silky, black robes each day that somehow- that act in an of itself- has rendered you beyond reproach at best, infallible at worst.
The cities, counties and states – to include the organizations that reside therein – that truly lead in the acute and profound changes starting now to unfold around the globe, who do not get needlessly mired in the mindset of just being “less deleterious and toxic to our environment” will be those vanguards who convert extant sustainability challenges into compelling and considered opportunities.
These will be the pioneers that coin and fashion the truly novel initiatives and stratagems, the fresh business models, the innovative energy infrastructures, as well as, the visionary management practices and organizational mores so very needed at this defining juncture of our numerous national crises.
Operating in a shared orientation is neither magical nor mystical. It is simply an alignment of the personal and the professional, of people working at their unsurpassed best; passionate, steadfast, yet selflessly being guardians for a propitious future, many aspects, though, of which those toiling daily will never glimpse. The benefits of such efforts are as large as you dare to dream; sadly, it appears as though you dream no more- pitiful comments from an obvious atrophied brain.
Playing “politics” with an ecosystem of our species, their livelihoods, their children and extended families; the indigenous flora and fauna of said region – fully cognizant of the literal decades it may take to achieve a modicum of normalcy once again- is truly a crime against humanity. FYI: if they ever call me for jury duty regarding this egregious act of yours to include your callous and infantile series of statements- you shall rejoice if for no other reason than you do not dream at this juncture; because one man’s pleasant night sleep could and would be another’s horrifying nightmare… I’ll allow you to be the “judge” in applying your failing IQ to that scenario.

This is amazing! To let people in power enrich themselves in that manner! It’s outrageous!
