There’s an email currently circulating around that features a wolf shot in the Drayton Valley area in Alberta, Canada. There’s no doubting that if the photograph is real, it could be one of the biggest on record, though an official weight has yet to be documented.
The timber wolf was hunted by a bear hunter, and rumor has it, this was following a recorded attack upon a black bear by the large canine. While accounts of this wolf have varied – with some stating that it weighed as much as 600 lbs, a better rough estimate of its weight by apparent wildlife experts has placed it at around 235 lbs.
Though some are still questioning the true existence of a timber wolf around this size (the increased ability of individuals to manipulate with Photoshop and other software programs leads to reluctance), if in fact the wolf weighs in at this size it would be recording setting. Previously, the biggest wolf on record was 175 lb Alaskan wolf reported in 1944.
Unfortunately, focus upon this wolf issue has begun for the wrong reasons. In addition to the email chain that’s circulating, the wolf is a hot topic amongst hunters on hunting forums online. While there may be others out there like it, it is possible that this wolf, if reports are true, was an anomaly. Rather than being hunted for sport, it could have been studied in a natural setting for research purpose and an increased understanding of the evolution of the species.
Fact or fiction – the hype surrounding Alberta’s enormous timber wolf does make us wonder what other species are living among us that we’ve yet to discover. What do you believe?

I work for the Drayton Valley paper, and have been dealing with this since the hoax started.
I found out because some guy (from Minneapolis, Minnesota, no less) called me to ask if it was true. I did some digging around and made some calls to the right people and nobody in the area has heard of this.
If someone shot a wolf that size, they would probably call me, or at least Fish and Wildlife, or someone. The photo also looks heavily edited.
i agree with you my friend, but wolf sizes may reach up 250 Lbs to my opinion because the more north you are, the more extreme the circumstances a wolf has to survive, it may be forced to kill polar bears to survive therefore has a suffficient size for this
Dude, if you lived in Canada, you’d know that wolves don’t hunt polar bears. I’ve lived as far North as Yellowknife where polar bears in town are common, nope. Wolves aren’t taking down polar bears.
It looks like a remarkable wolf was shot by an unremarkable red neck human… just another case of one of God’s rare and precious creations being murdered by a moron.
God bless America – where else in the world is it enshrined in law that no matter how low your IQ is – you’re entitled to own a gun.
Your the fuckin moron! You don’t know Dick about hunting! How do you think people survived way back then..IQ don’t mean shit in the woods..common sense matters!
I grew up in Alberta in the Springbank area. In the 1940s we heard and say wolves and coyotes. Only the coyotes were a problem with our henhouse.
I owned a BB gun from the age of six (6)ten (10), a .22 at the age of ten (10) and a .303 in my late teens. We never felt threatend by wolves and if we had ever seen one this large we would have called the wildlife service to have it trapped.
If this is not a hoax and someone really shot this wolf that person is an ignorant jerk.
Oakland, California
The guy isn’t an ignorant jerk, he’s a hunter, you might not have taken this animal but clearly he did. So who the fuck are you to say he’s a jerk, it’s one wolf, the whole god damn world isn’t gonna come crashing down buddy. If your a hunter, then surely you can appreciate the fact that other animals living in this wolf’s range will likely flurish now.
Well, maybe the big bad hunter was offended by the BIg BAD Wolf ‘murdering’ those poor defenseless deer, elk and caribou. Maybe he felt it his duty to kill the wolf in denfense of those ungulates to cease there heinous ‘murders’ at the tooth and claw of Mr. B. B. Wolf. Ah, what a fine public servant Mr. Kind Hunter is!!!
cody, you’ll have to excuse fair trade, they’re obviously a tree hugger who has educated themself right out of common sense, cut them some slack….LOL…these people think meat actually comes from the grocery store as apposed to farms, and that long before those times, man had to hunt and kill for food, and that hunting therefore was a way of life and now a tradition. it’s really a simple concept, but some people are simple minded, that’s life.
You’re the moron..moron! Murder is the act of intentionally killing a HUMAN BEING, not any other animal, you ignorant putz!
Also, if you read the article, the wolf was killed in Alberta, which is in Canada.. NOT America, as in the US of A, unless yo were referring to North America, the continent, which I doubt.
To quote Bugs Bunny (who I shot, skinned and ate)”What a maroon!”.
Thanks for the comment Craig. That has been my line of thinking as well – there are no tangible reports in the mainstream media about this (other than speculation that it might be a hoax). If, in fact, this was a real situation, local reporters like you certainly would have been approached about it, and you’d have to think it would make national and even international news as the biggest in North America.
It certainly does make you wonder just what might be out there that just might not have been found yet, even if it is a hoax!
Fair Trade – agreed. Whether in fact, the size of the animal has been exaggerated it’s a beautiful creature, shot for no other purpose than sport
Ya know it’s a real shame, that you and your fellow tree hugging lefty’s can’t understand 2 things. First, that hunting has long bin a proud Canadian tradition for years, and hopefuly for years to come if people like me have anyting to do with it. Secondly, the the positive effect hunting has on population management of game animals.
Yes, hunting has been nessisary for thousands of years. Until we domesticated animals. Now we don’t need to hunt for food, because we have bread an animal to die. If it was my choice, yes, I would go back to hunting soley for food, because it is a hell of a lot more humane then what we do to pigs and cows and chickens.
Go ahead. Try.
True hunting, like I hope you are talking about, means respect for the animals. It means passing over animals of this size, or pregnant femals, or pups, and going for the old or weak. Taking an incredible animal like this is not respectful. It would be similar to me running down someone of above average intelligence and killing them, just to prove that what, I’m top dog? I don’t even have words to describe how stupid that is.
second, carnivores (like this wolf) mate less and create less offspring than herbavores, so no, hunting this wolf down was not benificial to the management of this species, but yes, it did improve your chances to kill something for sport. Good to know where your priorities lay.
I’m obviously biased, because I have never hunted, but I’m sure it is exciting, and creates some kind of bonding experience with your friends or family. With this in mind, is there nothing else that would bring these same feelings to you? Maybe soccer? football? God, tag even.
One last point. When hunting was (and is still in some parts) honourable, it is not done with guns. Hunting with arrows shows a tatical intelligence, and strength. This Wolf was obviously not hunted this way. You want to impress someone with your hunting skills? Come to me when you take out a bear with a knife.
Teeny….your obviously uninformed about this, you make it very apparent. but hey, your an idiot, so that’s no surprise. take this into consideration you fuckin moron. canines bresd once a year, ungulates (animals with hooves i.e. moose, deer) bread once a year. canines average between 5 to 12 offspring, ungulates 1 to 3 (very rarely). do the math idiot.
Okay… You ignorant red neck… Positive effect on population management.. are you serious guy. Why on earth do you think that so many species that have been hunted are now on endangered species lists. Gross negligent human intervention into natural ecosystems kills species this has been proven time and time again. Yes hunting has always been around OUT OF NECESSITY, but guess what now we have farms and our meat products readily available to us in the grocery store. Proud tradition my college educated there is nothing proud about it just makes you look like a dumb ass who likes his big bad guns and likes shooting lil critters. So take your git r dun mentality and shove it.
Jesus another stupid fuckin tree hugger, there isn’t one game animal (species of animal hunted under regulation) that is on the endagered species list. ones that are on that list are not allowed to be hunted anymore and are under strict monitoring by you fuckin retards. hunting doesn’t make anyone look like a dumb ass, but what you wrote certainly makes you look like one. so why don’t you shove your head up a cows cunt and get a bull to fuck some brains into you and go to the grocery store, i’ll head to the bush thanks….fuckin yuppy
Hey Fair Trade: your last sarcastic comment about God Bless America makes no sense the wolf was shot in Canada…. moron
I don’ have a hard time believing this story at all. Sometime hunters fudge the story because they don’t want people to know where they were really hunting, kinda like your favorite fishing hole. All over the country, larger and larger animals are being shot. I know we had no bears in our part of WI and now they are thick as deer. Since they have a better food supply than they do farther north, the bears keep getting bigger around here since it is rare to receive a bear permit in the southern part of the state. Now we also have Mountain Lions–yeehah!
gee maybe you should try and use higher intelligence and try and live with the bears.
Live with the bears? AHAHAHAHA, you tree huggers make me laugh, if your such a conservationist, then take all the wood in your house and go throw it back in the bush and go live like the natives did asshole. Other then nothing, all you tree huggers accomplish is annoying people (hunters), who actually care about, and preserve one of Canada’s greatest features, the great outdoors.
Sorry, so so sorry to say this, but I know how freaking scary living around bears is. There is not a chance in hell I would be able to learn to live with them unless I carried a tranquilizer gun around with me. Killing them isn’t nessisary either though. Relocation works, and if humans weren’t so freaking good at surviving, we wouldn’t even have this issue, because there would be more land for bears to live on, which means they wouldn’t be in such close quarters. Maybe, we should allot large peices of protected land to bears and protect them.
that was the dumbest thing i might have read on this website. give your fuckin head a shake you tool.
It’s true Matt, and animals at higher altitudes are also suppossed to be larger.
I’m in Southern Ontario and mountain lions/cougars were once said to be extinct, and now sightings are increasing. The unusual can happen!
I agree the idiot should not have killed such a speciman. But we are quick to kill and slow to preserve. I once read a story about a wolf of this size and believe it or not the story was from this same area. The story was based around 1920 I believe.
The guy’s no idiot, he’s a regular hero. Do you have any idea how the deer population is going to flurish with that killing machine dead. Think about it wise ass, one wolf dead as apposed to say somewhere in the range of 15 to 25 deer. I don’t know, but it seems as though your quick to judge, but slow to think…..idiot!
I think you might be a little confused. I’m not expert on wolves, but I love them. And I know that it’s a fact that wolves don’t normally prey on healthy animals. Before they go to your “magnificent game animals”, they weed out the sick and old, that way the herd is stronger, and also their population is heavily in check. Also, I AM a hunter. I’m part Native American, and also, one of my ancestors came over and settled in Jamestown. Now, wolves don’t hunt for sport. They hunt for food. If you were in the wolf’s position, you would need food as well. I hunt, but I don’t do it for large sport like most hunters today. They hunt for antlers and some even leave most of the animal that can be turned into food to rot in the woods or on the side of the highway. Also I know that when wolves attack livestock, it’s because they don’t have an abundant food source in the area. If they did, ranchers would have nothing to fear. DON;t pull the hunter card. It’s immature, and inaccurate. Hunting, while it does keep populations down, is done for wrong reasons. Most hunters kill for the antlers to hang on their walls, and they do it because it makes them feel good that they can kill something and get away with it. But, I do also know that some hunters also poach. taking more animals than necessary in order to have more “trophies”. Wolves, however, use the whole animal. They even eat the bones, and when they can’t eat anymore, they often visit the kill over the next few days until it is picked clean. I’ve heard so many things about how hunter “need” the game population to be large, that way they can hunt more and more. But if the population got too large, the animals would starve to death and get hit by cars, and die of disease. Then there wouldn’t be any more hunting. Would you “hunters” like that?
Way to negatively stereotype hunters pal, and you call yourelf one? The people I know that hunt do it cause it’s a passion and a tradition. it’s not just something to do to make them feel like they’re at the top of the food chain. taking any animal is an excellent hunt, but taking a trophy is hard to describe, but i don’t beleive for a second that every hunter goes out thinking about bringing home a nice rack and chucking the rest. i think your mislead. for the most part, hunters are ethical and respectful of the land and what it provides, i’m by no means saying there aren’t poachers out there, it’s a dam shame there is, and they ought be hung, but this worlds to politicaly correct for proper justice anymore. i geuss to cut it short, wolf populations need to be in check just as any other animal, and negatively stereotyping hunters is the worst thing you could do this day in age.
The photo is a fake..put it into an imaging program and you will see first of all that the shadow are wrong..one is missing. Next and more significantly the arms are shown in two impossible /simultaneous positions vis a vis the neck and body of the wolf.
i am a moron stupid ass hunter and would have shot it as well. I also know I do more to preserve wild life than the clueless complainers (green beans). Maybe if you people got off the blacktop once in a while instead of your bubbles you live in you would see. I hope you get eaten by these animals that I protect and yes also hunt.
Apparantly this beast turned into a man shortly after this photo was taken.
well of course everyone should be allowed to own a gun, but this guy is a moron. His shooting of this beautiful animal is totally retarded. He should be thrown in jail for killing this wolf, what a retard, but he is almost as retarded as those morons saying guns should be outlawed.
Thrown in jail? AHAHAHA, god your an idiot, do you have any idea how intelligent these animals are? The reason more animals of this size haven’t bin killed and photographed is because of how smart they are. If people think this is a once in a life time wolf, they’re out of their mind. There’s more where this one came from. It’s how smart they are that keeps animals such as this one alive to get to this size.
It certainly ‘looks’ like a big wolf. Having seen several large wolves in northern Saskatchewan over the years and having taken the time to ask trappers about wolf size, etc., none have indicated that they have come across wolves much over 125 lbs. So whether the photo has been doctored or not, it is highly unlikely that the animal would reach 200 lbs.
I don’t believe a man could lift adead wolf that big. The Picture looks fake anyways.
Ok, for one thing, this wolf could easily way 200 lbs….u obviously havnt seen a grey wolf. I just cought a coyote last weekend and it weighed 89lbs. Now a grey wolf is well over that……and if anybody can’t lift a dead wolf thats 200lbs, then your nota true hunter and need to do some manual labour…lloll
Also, why did the man not show everyone. what did he do with the wolf?????????????
Looks like a clear case of a cut and paste to me. Pretty evident along the chest and stomach perimeter.
Looks like heavy use of the smudge tool although a marked absence of it on the animal,s lower limbs. Zooming in also indicates some kind of a “split” in the lower part of the wolf’s tail.
Of course I could be mistaken…
well said joe im a hunter as well and would have shot it too the real moron is fairtrade who clearly has no idea the ethics a true hunter holds dear or how much revenue for wildlife conservation is generated by people buying hunting licences fairtrade i bet you would be singing a different tune if that beautiful wolf wondered into your yard and killed and ate one of your precious little pets and what about the wildlife habitat that was destroyed to build your home, murderer, get an education but first some common sense and instead of wasting your time retaliating to this how bout you go plant some trees or something useful ever think of that? people like you make me sick god forbid someone come into your home and you have no means of protection, murder and crime were invented long before firearms and will continue long after
Well put! The tree huggers, as envirnmental as they think they might be, don’t understand half of it. Their houses are made out of the same material as are’s, built in the same ecosystems as are’s, but when a hunter goes out and kill’s an animal, all hell breaks loose. They don’t understand that essentially hunting is a part of conservation of wildlife.
well said joe i bet they would be singing a different tune if that beautiful wolf wondered into their yard ate their pet, people have no clue how much hunters care for and conserve wildlife just by spending money on a hunting license, and u gotta lot of never calling us hunters murderers how many animals lost their homes and lives when your house was built, murderer, or better yet the development you live in? get a clue and as for your stance on gun control God forbid someone breaks into your house and you have no means of protection then maybe youll realize why responsible citizens own fireams fairtrade you have the iq of a toaster and even less common sense crime and murder were around long before firearms and will remain long after they are gone
Beth,
Go to: http://www.grimsmonstermix.com/, wolf was shot by Jim Johnstone in Glenevis, Alberta. The Outfitter that took him on the hunt was Jeff Grimolfson, who
owns White Claw Outfitters in Alberta. It apparently ran in a magazine in the fall and the hunt was taped and will/has appeared on the TV show “The Hunting Chronicles.”
The front right leg is in a strange position for an animal being held up the way it is…in any event, a record sized animal of this size would surely have made its way to a taxidermist.
I don’t know if it’s true or not but I don’t doubt that exceptionally large wolves in peak condition may attain weights near the 200 lb mark. Three years ago I saw a very large black bear standing by the side of Rt. 17 in upstate New York. I’d estimate the animal weighed at least 350 lbs, probably more. What is remarkable about this is the fact that it was sighted within ninety miles of New York City limits. Wild creatures are still out there and some of them a very impressive.
im from the drayton valley area and have hunted for twenty years.i dont believe one bit that this is real. why are there no other pictures or a follow up frm fish and game. where is this hide? no person in the right mind would trash that hide?we need more proof.
For every wolf you shoot you save 18 deer. I personally meet the guide who was there, and seen the video of the hunt and I know it’s no hoax. The wolf I shot was about 140lb and it doesn’t compare with the one taken in Drayton Valley. It was about 197lb and it came in under a quarter inch short of the world record.
Typical hunters….I just don’t understand it. These animals have a purpose on the earth. They help keep the herds healthy. How does this “save” 18 deer? Save them from what? Hunters? Vehicles? Wasting disease? Come on…Guess it takes a “hunters” mentality to understand this. Guess I do not understand the thrill and sport of sitting in a tree with bait at the base waiting to pluck off whatever comes within 50 yards. Just don’t get it…… I will stick to fishing….at least that involves some skill…trying to land a fish with a barbless hook. Maybe hunters should spend more time thinking about how to keep these wild populations from declining. After all, the human population keeps growing and growing which means more hunters which means less deer anyways. Quite doubt that all the wolves in North America take more deer than humans.
well said dakota. I live in the north and can’t stand the reference Bear Hunter should call it what it is BEAR BAITING. or maybe they (the bear baiters) would rather you do your fishing in a barrel then they could use it for their baiting
i disagree because i think that huting is just like fishing or angling..ur still killing an animal! Hunting is just another sport or hobby or whatever that the typical male or female like to do. If the government didn’t want us hunting, then why is it still allowed or legal? state your opinions but you don’t have to be so god damn ignorant to eachother! Don’t be bitching at eachother, it’s the government you need to bitch at because they ain’t doing anything to stop these hunters. I personally think there’s nothing wrong with hunting, but i go by if i shot it then i eat it! who knows if the pictures fake.. yes i agree that we need proof from news or something!
Its 197. Ive got a hunting Magazine that says 197 lbs. Looking for the hunting vid.
I dont know if this photo is real or not , Bt i have seen a wolf at least that size crossing Hyw 40 south of Grande Prairie Sunday sept 12th
I was in shock how big it was!!
For those who have been removed from your natural state of being by several generations of brainwashing under the guise of “civilizing” society, I remind you that you too were born with canine teeth and are therefore predators in the natural order of things. For those of us who have been fortunate enough to be born to a lineage of realists and naturalists, we do not deny our instincts, but nurture and thrive on them. Below is a quote that I believe describes us best:
AS HUNTERS, OUR PASSION DRIVES US TO RISE EARLY IN THE COLD DARK HOURS OF THE DAWN AND TO TRAVEL MANY MILES TO LOSE OURSELVES IN FAVOURITE LANDSCAPES, THE ONES THAT RESONATE IN OUR SOULS.
WE MAY GO WITH FRIENDS OR FAMILY BUT AT SOME POINT WE END UP ALONE, MOVING QUIETLY, TOTALLY INVOLVED WITH THE BREEZE, THE UNDERGROWTH, THE HIDDEN PLACES IN THE VEGETATION AND THE VAST, OVER ARCHING SKY.
WE BECOME PREDATORS, AND THUS ONE WITH THE ECOSYSTEM – NO LONGER CASUAL OBSERVERS, BUT FULL PARTICIPANTS. WE ARE THERE, WHOLLY AND COMPLETELY, AND OPEN TO WHAT WILL COME.
AND SO IT IS THAT WE SOMETIMES COME HOME FOR THE FINAL TIME AT SEASON’S END WITH OUR TAGS UNFILLED, BUT OUR HEARTS OVERFLOWING. A SUCCESSFUL HUNT DOES NOT REQUIRE A KILL, ONLY THE POSSIBILITY OF ONE. IT IS THAT POSSIBILITY THAT PLACES US OUT IN THE HEART OF THE LIVING WORLD WHERE WOLVES TROT CASUALLY OVER THE ALPINE RIDGES, SMALL BIRDS DRAG THE SUNRISE INTO THE WIND AND BIGHORN SHEEP SURVEY THE WILDERNESS FROM HOLLOWED OUT BEDS ON HIGH TALUS SLOPES.
SOMETIMES WE FORGET WHAT THOSE WHO DO NOT HUNT CANNOT UNDERSTAND, BUT IT IS NOT THE KILL THAT MAKES US HUNTERS. IT IS THE WITNESSING, THE BEING THERE, AND THOSE INTIMATE MOMENTS OF DISCOVERY WHEN THE LIVING WORLD REVEALS ITSELF TO THOSE WHO WORK SO HARD TO FIND IT.
THAT IS WHY WE WILL BE THERE AGAIN IN THE COLD AND THE RAIN AND THE SNOW, WORKING HARD TO PENETRATE TO THE MOST SECRET OF WILD PLACES AGAIN NEXT SEASON. BECAUSE AT THE HEART OF IT, WE ARE NOT SEEKING DEATH. WE ARE ACTIVELY PARTICIPATING IN, AND CELEBRATING, THE INCREDIBLE RICHNESS OF LIFE.
THAT IS AT THE HEART OF WHY WE HUNT.
hunters are and will always be morons
No Gil, your an idiot, and undoubtedley a no good for nothing, tree hugging lefty. You think hunters are morons when in fact, I hate to say…you are. It’s people like you who weren’t brought up understanding hunting and the outdoors. I feel bad for you in that sense, but the fact your a tree hugger, I can understand completely, sorry Gil, maybe in your next life you won’t be a complete idiot…
When I lived in Alberta over 20 years ago another timber wolf was shot by local people about 70 miles north of Drayton Valley. At the time the local parks service people scoffed at the idea that there were any timber wolves in the area. However, the proof was in the dead wolf delivered to their offices by the guy who shot it. It had been menacing kids waiting for the school bus so local parents kept a watch until they got it.
Don’t know the exact year, but did know the guy who lived along the same road as the guy who shot the wolf – it was nearly 8 feet from nose to the tip of its tail.
Sure it is a wolf?
I am not sure that the photo is a fake (but taken with a wide angle lens), but I have never seen a wolf with such a head.
Norwegian reader
To Joe (361 days ago): How can you “protect” and “hunt” these animals at the same time? I don’t think that it’s up to you to decide how many of the wolves should exist. They were here first. So put the gun down and live with them.
To all you tree hugging idiots, an animal of this size needs to eat like you and I. To do that, it kills to stay alive. Yet you cry and complain everytime a picture like this comes up real or fake, but do you ever think of this? when this things is killing, the animal it’s preying on is alive while it’s being eaten. Imagine for a moment what that may feel like. Now why don’t you cry and complain for every animal that gets torn apart while its still breathing so this thing can survive you brainless tree hugging idiots, you’re fucked!
what a jar head, its eating for survival not for sport, take away your gun or bow and then go hunt it, to bad it lacks the will for the sport of the hunt. then how would youuuu feel being hunted for sport. Jar head
Do you realize the amount of food this animal would consume? You can figure on an average size deer a week, and you can be garunteed that along its travels, the odd rabbit or other such animals might fall prey. Now add that up over the course of a years time. Sport or not, a wolf is a killing machine, and the way it kills is neither clean nor painless. I respect the outdoors cause I was brought up that way, but anything to help the animals that fall prey to an animal like that, I’ll do what I can to help their odds. I wouldn’t think twice about taking a trophy like that myself, and on that regard, I say, good for him!
This isn’t shopped, found a link to share. More photo’s, there was also video taken which aired on an outdoorsmans show or three. Official weight 197lbs. Was taken in the Glenevis area near Alberta Beach. Here’s the link for the non-believers.
http://www.outdoorsmenforum.ca/showthread.php?t=34797
What if this fellow was hunting illegally! Or just wait, that never happens, he would be getting himself in a pile of trouble,on another note I’ve seen some pretty large animals out there I beleive this picture to be sound!
That hunters head would make a lovely target.
And why’s that now? Because he shot a wolf? Well by jesus murphy we better call in the troops, some one killed a wolf. Relax sunshine, it’s one animal, one that instinctively reproduces. They’ll be a round for a while yet Sam, have no worries.
c’mon one look tells you that photo is fake as f#$%
So the overall opinion here is, don’t hunt or shoot wolves, which is to bad and for the most part of these people commenting, sounds uneducated. It’s made out that these animals are close to extinction, which is far from true. Allowing these animals to populate without control or limit is rediculous. Some research shows wolves reproduce by about 20% annualy, with a survival rate of apporximately 50%, far exceeding many animals it preys on. So if you take into consideration that deer, elk, moose and other animals, which on average only reproduce 1 or 2 offspring annualy, with the same survival rate, are all hunted under strict laws managing population, then simply, why shouldn’t wolves that produce far more young. It doesn’t make any sense. It’s conservation management, it doesn’t mean wolves have to be killed to extinction, but should be properly managed just like other species. Never mind if the picture is real or fake, there’s a more serious issue brought up here that needs to be adressed.
Well said wolf slayer, i couldn’t agree more.
I would just like to add that the hunter did post a story in BIG BUCK magazine (Fall issue) along with 3!! different photos/angles of the wolf. The wolf weighed in at 197 lbs.
THIS WOLF IS REAL!!!!!!
The wolf was featured in a story in “Big Buck Magazine”. It is in fact real, and weighed 197lbs. Wolves are BIG FUCKIN ANIMALS. Anybody who has doubts, email me and I will send you pictures of my wolf kills. This is an extremely large, and true trophy animal.
A shame…that’s what this is, a god dam shame. The fact that the amount of tree huggers running there mouth here is merely the tip of the iceberg. Uninformed, misled and just out right stupid. Worst part is it’ll only get worse before it gets better. I hate to think of what hunting and being in the outdoors will be like for my kids and their kids with a society like this. Hunting has so much meaning to so many as a tradition and a way of life, but people can’t just mind there own, they’re always sticking their nose in other peoples business. So basically what I’m saying is this, fuck off tree huggers, the ministry of natural resources everywhere is doing a dam good job of protecting wild life along with hunters and trappers all over this country. Just let us be.
MY OPINION ; That is ashame that he has killed that wonderful creature.
I once read a book about a record size wolf that Lived in Alberta Canada in a place known as the valley of the porcupine. The book was titled “The Wolf King” by J. W. Lippincott. I have read that some say the story was true, others no. The book was written in the 1930′s, it was a very good book anyway. Also I saw documentary done by BBC in the ’90′s about an area in Canada where it stated these wolves were the largest in the world and they lived intirely on Bison.
See, no.
People who hunt predators are AFRAID. You fucks don’t have any right to murder an innocent animal. You say it’s not innocent? Think of this shit:
Wolves are territorial and very protective of their family.
If a stranger walked into your house and refused to leave, you would want to kill/fight him/her, right? That’s what we’re like when we invade wolf territory.
If you have a child and there was a threat coming from someone else, you want to get rid of them, right? That’s exactly how wolves are with their pups.
Fuck off, hunters. They’re innocent animals and they don’t fucking kill us for sport do they? How does it feel to know hunting is a form of murder if the animal hasn’t done SHIT purposely?
Fucking hunters in Idaho trying to hunt the wolves because they’re “taking their elk”. Fuck off. Wolves need to eat just as much as we do. You’re the ones stealing their food. How about not being selfish and let THEM be?
So…. if someone murdered your family member… it’s just one human, right?
IDC how big a wolf is. There are more humans in the world consuming more food than this wolf does. Wolves can eat one meal and last for several days. However, we eat everyday… three or more times a day. Why can’t you fuckers (hunters) see that technically, this is murder? Like someone else said, they CAN’T hunt for sport and trust me, if they were smart and they could, all you hunters would be fucked so hard in the ass.
How does it feel to know you killed a pup’s mother, father, sister or brother?
How would it feel if someone murdered your mother, father, sister, brother etc?
It’s the same thing. Though wolves cannot produce tears, they can clearly feel for losses in their family.
Stop being afraid of them and face the facts;
they’re EXACTLY like humans.
Hunter. go fuck yourself you animal rights bitch you’re doing more harm to animals your big cities. you’re taking away natural habitat I’m doing more harm than any hunter can do.
smoke a pack a day and I’m not talking about cigarettes
The point is it makes no effin difference. The fact remains hunters enjoy the taking the life of something innocent and beautiful. You enjoy watching it die from your bullet. Therefore youre a piece of shit. It makes no difference whether youre “respectful” about it. Or whether ur educated and aware and follow laws. The fact remains you enjoy killing a beautiful fellow animal and that makes you a worthless, disrespectful, terrible piece of shit of a person. I feel sorry you will raise other white trash kids who will kill something and post that shit on facebook. Hunters are not people.
there more things to be concerned with then fucking wolf hunting why don’t you get off your lazy ass stop collecting unemployment and get a fucking job and leave the wolf hunting to somebody that actually knows what the hell they’re talking about fucking animal rights jackass p.s I shot a nice black wolf last weekend that should give you something to bitch about
@hunter 101 Wow dude, calm down, it’s not that serious.
@bubblejomay @hunter
@bubblejomay @hunter actually it is people have been getting death threats in idaho for shooting a wolf
@hunter 101 @hunter You know, I feel just like this, you should kill only in self defense and people shouldn’t be threatened if this is the case.
@bubblejomay @hunter no they shouldn’t it’s a shame that they don’t understand what hunters are really doing we care about having a healthy population of all wildlife we just understand they need to be managed if not they’re worse off
@bubblejomay @hunter wolves in idaho will be killed no matter what either by the government gassing the dens or by hunters
The only thing that bothers me is, the wolf, if this a true picture should have been studied, rather alive, but even dead to find out if it is a descendant of the Dire wolf that lived in the pliestoscene era.
@bubblejomay I’m not saying it’s better to kill it then captured alive it would’ve been better to get it alive but if it is a dire wolf there has to be more and now they can’t concentrate on that area to try to bring them back
Wow just wow people, Just like anything else POPULATION control. If you didnt set bug bombs off and kill the insects that bother you the most then we as humans would be over poplulated and therefore we wouldn’t exsit… Same goes with wild life and should be the same about limiting how many child Humans have and there should be more of a control of population with humans (not saying we need to go kill people) just saying that we should be limited on how many child we can have and then it should be mandatory for us to “get fixed” so to speak. One day there will be too many humans hell we already have too many. Just think the avg person only has 1 baby at a time and can only have a child once every 9 months to a year Wolves and most animals can have litters from 5-20 per little and most can have 3 or 4 litters a year if something is done then they will over populate the world. GET a grip people and look at facts…..Our hunters (not me i have never killed an animal in my life) but the ones who do hunt are awsome if they do so legally there is no harm in it and what most people dont understand is most people eat or donate what they hunt. Any rich ass want veil??? what the hell do you thank that is yup thats bambies little brother…..oh and I dont want to leave out you plant eaters… Plants have babies and are living things too… oh and btw we are meant to eat both MEAT AND PLANTS duh just look at your teeth and digestive tracks if you wherent meant to eat it then your species wouldnt be able too…. AT ALL nop one any of us would be able to eat MEAT not even 1 person in the whole world …END of story
It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a comment so fueled by passionate inaccuracy, yet containing a cry for research. I feel oddly giddy that though my education hasn’t been top notch, it has been better than some. Wolves have typically 5-6 pups per litter and the chances of all of them living to adulthood are slim. I can’t believe I have to explain this- plants aren’t living beings like mammals, their reproductive system is completely different- chill out. You obviously get yourself worked into a tizzy when someone brings up the evolution of our teeth in conversation related to their choice of food consumption. Let me break this down for you. Yes our ancestors ate meat, more likely (and for longer during our evolutionary chain) they ate plant matter. The proof of this is that we DON’T have a mouth of canine and incisor teeth, we have predominately molars made thick and strong from several generations of mashing up hard tubers. The 3rd thing I’d like to express is your “idea” about human population. If you really think that after a predetermined amount of children people should be required to “get fixed” then you are much, much more stupid than I can even fathom. What about a broader and younger approach to sexual education? What about making birth control options available without social/religious stigma. God you make me want to puke. Which brings me to point 4, scrape together some money and spring for a night class or two each semester and after you realize what an awful thing this is you posted, change everything about yourself and pretend this never happened.
God you make me hope that next to your and your “brothers” are out shooting at shit and drinking cheap whiskey you’ll blow each other away.
You say tree hugger like it’s supposed to be an insult when really, you just make yourself look like an ignorant redneck. How’s that workin’ for ya?
After reading the retarded comments of these animal rights fuck tards I had to comment.. I hope you tree hugging retards take your own advice and go live in the wild with the wolves, bears and such.and while the great and wonderful anamals are tearing you limb from limb then tell us hunters how much these animals are worth saving!!
Call me stupid I don’t care so what maybe I dont have the exact amount of pups or blah blah blah and I wasnt insisting they “fix” teenagers I am talking about “fixing” adults who have 4 or more freaking children. Anyways non the less you read too much into what I had to say I was giving examples not facts…. I don’t pretend to be the smartest person alive so if calling me stupid and saying you are going to puke well then be it I AM STUPID AND YOUR LOOSING YOUR DINNER. Does it make you feel better that I agree with you. To a person that has nothing better to do then to down a complete stranger you know nothing about. I am sick of hear OH POOR animal this or animal that GOOD grief get a life. If people would put as much passion they have towards animals towards the human race this world would be a much better place and there wouldn’t be people in the world that get there jollies off my making fun of and trying to down someone they know nothing about.. Sure hope it was as good for you as it was for me…Damn I need a ciggerette shit baby do it again…
