I think Robert Rhodes needs help with his English language – if nothing else. It’ a new concept to me – a “prediction” that “covers” a future event ?.
No – “Predictions” are information which is subsequently seen to describe a particular, later, event – singular. If I say that one day cars will be replaced by horses, and someone somewhere gets rid of their car and gets a horse, I cannot congratulate myself for having “made a prediction”, because all I have done is to say what I bet will be a statistical
“trend”. “Prediction” requires specific detail.
Warning of Climate change is no more to do with “Prediction” than to say that “this water will boil when it reaches 100 degrees Celcius”. Or “if you keep going down the A40 East you will get to Oxford, and then London” “If you (or I !) drop this
weight on your (or my) foot it will hurt”. This is not “prediction”

For what is worthy, my global warming predictions easily covered the disaster that started a week later:
