The Government should take a leaf out of the management and sucess of Bandavgarh National Park. Valmiki Nagar, by its location and environment, can be best utilised by the Government for Forest Tourism generating much needed employment opportunities for people of the region who are more than dependent on the vagaries of nature.
People like us are to be blamed for the hapless situation as we are the ones who select them and put them in charge of affairs. Such Ministers, who dont know ABC of wildlife and conservations have been made to decide the fate. It is time to sit up and think what we are doing and how far we can take liberties with nature. I for one feel that Sushshan Kumar (albit Nitish Kumar) should take emergent steps to rein such ministers who has the audacity to say such things on record.

Does the population as a whole even care a little bit? NO!

On a priority list of 1 to 1,000,000 this would come in about 999,999 (next to the bottom) on most Indian's list - if they personally have to do anything. Actually, maybe I am a bit over optimistic if anything.
