Step Back in Time at Crossroads Village

Take a moment to step out of the fast paced modern world and visit a village where time stopped over a hundred years ago.

Listen for the train whistle to signal that you can take a ride on the Huckleberry railroad, or feel the breeze off the lake while riding the Genesee Belle, enjoy old fashioned carnival rides on an old carousel or swing, watch a blacksmith at work or check out the way printers once had to set up their printing presses.

At Crossroads Village you can see what the good old days were really all about.

Stroll around town and take in the sights. Walk along the boardwalk sidewalks. Enjoy the aromas of fresh baked goods and fresh pressed cider. Check out the local mills or learn about the Pony Express, enjoy the train shop and make sure to visit the General Store. You can even visit the bank, the barber shop and check out the one room schoolhouse or the old country church.

Most of the old buildings in Crossroads Village are authentic historical buildings and were moved – brick, board and stone – to the village. They have “been preserved, furnished and put back into use, so you can experience first-hand what life was like in a small village in Michigan in the late 1800s”.

You can even enjoy old fashioned carnival rides at Crossroads Village, the only place in the world where you’ll find two Charles W. Parker amusement rides fully restored and available for you to enjoy. Step onto the 1912 carousel with its herd of handsome hand-painted wooden horses or step into a gondola on Parker’s 1910 “Superior Wheel” for a breathtaking view of Mott Lake and Crossroads Village.

All summer long the park has events and programs going on to excite the whole family. In the fall the Halloween Ghosts and Goodies event lets kids young and old trick or treat through the village and take a ride on the haunted train. In November ladies get a special night to shop and get a preview of the holiday season during Ladies Night Out.

During the holidays the sight of Crossroads Village dressed in lights is not something to be missed. Bundle up and walk through to enjoy a Victorian style Christmas or visit on Christmas Eve when you can drive throughout the village for just $5 a carload.

If you live in the Genesee County area of Michigan, Crossroads Village is place that should be visited at least once year.

Crossroads Village and the Huckleberry Railroad are located just North of Flint. Follow I-475 North off I-75 or I-69 to Saginaw Street – Exit 13.
