CBC Recycling: Flint’s Recycling Center
If you are not lucky enough to live in one of the Genesee County suburbs that offers curbside recycling you might be wondering where you can take products for recycling.
The answer: C.B.C Recycling in downtown Flint. They have huge bins where you can dump your cardboard, newspapers, magazines, phonebooks, office paper, glass, tin and aluminum cans, and number 1 and 2 plastics.

C.B.C Recycling is located at 1801 South Saginaw Street right outside the main downtown Flint area. They are open from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday- Friday and the first two Saturdays of the month from 9-1 PM.
They do not accept any wax coated materials so no waxy paper, no wax covered cardboard boxes and nothing covered with food residue. Please rinse out all of your containers and remove lids.
They do accept some electronic waste like computers, televisions, fax machines, scanners, etc for a fee of $5 an item.
This is where I haul all my recyclables to since I am not one of the lucky ones to have curbside recycling.
For more information you can call C.B.C Recycling at 810-239-5040 or email them at cbcrecycle@hotmail.com.

According to CBC, they won’t be accepting any glass as of September 1.
They also told me over the phone that they won’t accept ALL Nos. 1 and 2 recyclables — only those that were drink and detergent/soap containers. No food containers.
What they accept for cardboard is very narrow — pretty much corrugated cardboard and not much else.
The woman on the phone also told me that anything that they won’t recycle just winds up in the landfill after the bins are sorted. So…you may be thinking that everything you’ve brought there will be recycled, but it won’t be.
