Thanks for the clarification. I do understand your thinking on the presentation. I had not actually noticed the photo caption. My take on the article was that it reported on the IISR research and discovery of new species. My personal preference is generally to align the pictorial element of an article with the actual news element being reported. For me, any of the newly discovered species would have caused me to want to read the article. Nonetheless, it was a wonderful article and my excursion over to the IISR site was fun and informative. Thanks again.

As the post was about species in general and limited to the new species I felt the image was a beautiful look at species in general. The caption for the photograph shows that the species are a selection from the Animalia Kingdom only.

Images of species in the top ten lists along with fuller explanations are available in through the links in the article.

I felt the photograph was in line with the Ecowordly look of striking images linked to the topic but not necessarily a "journalistic" photo. If you or others feel this is a wrong approach please let me know and I will replace it!

One small point though. I couldn't find, nor do I recall reading anything on a new tiger species. There are references to new tiger beetles and tiger salamanders, but no large, furry varieties. Wonder why one is pictured in your article? Please advise.

An interesting article. I googled the site of International Institute for Species Research. Lots of information, including special related tours in San Francisco and other locations. Allows for donations toward research and research updates. Thanks.
