after reading this posting, only one thing strikes my mind!! i ve always believed lion is the king of jungle.

"that struggle to keep our world one species richer and which work to enable our future generations to look at the king of the forest, the tiger, in reality, not just in picture-books."

then i had another doubt, whether forest and jungle mean the same ;)

is it lion or tiger ?? :D

Steve,

The article doesn't say that free market causes poverty. It actually talks about the well studied limitations of free-market economics to reduce poverty.

That said, the article is NOT about what the free market economics can or can not do, but that the tiger farm lobby is WRONG to say that free market economics can justify lifting of tiger-trade ban.

imho, you are reading the statement out of context.

If a free market causes poverty, then why are countries with free markets richer than ones without them? You totally shoot your entire argument in the foot when you say something asinine like that.

"...and the so-called “believers of free-market economics” ..."

I think that says it all, these people do not want any interference in business practices (whatever that maybe). To them that is more important than the environment, period.

Push for a free market is what created the current financial situation.

It is time too stop that unacceptable viewpoint now.
