3rdWhale iPhone App Finds the Green Near You
When you’re out and about, how do you find businesses near you that mesh with your values? How do you let others on the go know about your green business? Just pull up the new 3rdWhale Mobile app on your iPhone!
The 3rdWhale mobile application uses the GPS feature on your phone to locate green businesses like fair trade stores, yoga centers, vegetarian restaurants, or bicycle shops, and the map will get you there in no time. The app will also let you know what others think of the business via user reviews (a la Yelp) and you can add your own review or flag a listing as inappropriate or ‘not so green’.
Businesses are sorted into four categories, Food, Ecotourism, Retail, and Spa/Fitness, and you can search or just see what’s around you wherever you happen to be.
Over 30 cities are live now, and 100 are in the database, with plans for 1000 cities worldwide. You can help by adding your favorite green business via the web or the app. The 3rdWhale app is only for iPhone right now, but Android and BlackBerry versions are coming soon.
