People cut forests and thus threaten the habitat of tigers, so it is inevitable that there is a conflict, but the tigers still in the end hurt. But it's not people who cut trees on Sumatra fault, they just trying to feed their family's the best way to know. It is fault of big companies from the west, which are used to maximum without taking into consideration the living world of Sumatra.

Agreed that this is absolutely terrible but I actually work with APP on their sustainability initiatives and I know that they have put huge efforts into the Senepis sanctuary and the Giam Siak Kecil reserve - which btw is massive. It's easy for NGO's to say it's APPs fault but in reality poverty is a massive cause of poaching and illegal logging. It's about time APP got some encouragement when it does some good. I know from experience that they are making major efforts and investments in sustainability and if they were a western company they would be getting a lot of credit. Who else is actually putting money into sustainability in Indonesia instead of moaning about it? It's about time people stopped criticising them and it's about time western NGOs stopped telling outright lies about them to score cheap political points.
