In light of the catastrophic damage the unregulated free markets of capitalism have wrought on our economy and planet, I think that preserving them in their present state is not a great idea. Perhaps increased health and food safety regulations and other reasonable limits on predatory capitalism are in order now. Imagine what a different world we would have if the billions spent on advertising and promoting greasy processed fast food were invested in creating small local community gardens so that everyone could have access to fresh healthy food.

While wanting to preserve the free markets of capitalism, it is also disturbing that such practices lead to increased health risks. While true that it comes down the the individual choice, millions in advertising dollars are targeted at increasing consumption levels.
