Go Green Expo Comes to LA
What started out as a single event in NYC last year, the Go Green Expo has bloomed into a 4-city extravaganza, kicking off at the LA Convention Center this weekend, January 23-25. In addition to over 200 booths of eco-friendly goods and services, the Expo features:
- Interactive seminars and speeches
- Film screenings
- Eco-fashion show
- Demonstrations & hands-on activities
Kicking off with a special free day for businesses only, Friday’s event features a keynote by the green movement’s svengali, Ed Begley, Jr at 3pm, followed by a screening of Sundance Film Festival winner “Fuel” at 5pm. After the screening, the film’s director Josh Tickell joins Peter Fonda, Mariel Hemingway, and Tony Tracy for a panel discussion. Though Friday is technically for businesses only, the keynote and screening are open to the public.
For the weekend, the focus shifts to consumers with Saturday panels on healthy living and sustainable investing. Josh Dorfman, best known for The Lazy Environmentalist, heads up an entertainment panel at 2pm dubbed, “Broadcasting the Green Message”, along with radio host Sherry Beal and Boise Thomas of Alter Eco. Sunday’s panels include greening your business, energy and conservation, and green building and design.
And then there’s the expo itself. From tee-shirts and lighting products to beverages and skin care, it’s all there. Additional events are slated for the coming months in Philly, New York and Atlanta. I hope to see you there!
