Each year, community bicycle projects from around the country (and abroad) come together at the Bike!Bike! to talk shop and come up with ideas for making their communities more bicycle-friendly. Atlanta’s Sopo Bicycle Co-op is teaming up with Bike Collectives Network to bring this annual conference to the Southeast for the first time this January!

The Atlanta conference is this coming January from the 22nd through the 25th. Sopo is hosting events at WonderRoot community Arts Center and with Trees Atlanta throughout the long weekend. The “conversational” workshops focus on helping fledgling bike shops get up and running by covering topics such as:

  • Structuring your bike organization
  • Filling out non-profit paperwork
  • Building community partnerships
  • Getting space for, setting up, and stocking a bike shop
  • Creating a usable and accessible website
  • Working with the mainstream media and the community
  • Basic bike repair

On top of the workshops, Sopo is planning some great music, art, and parties where participants can relax and get to know each other. If you’re interested in participating or in hosting a workshop, check out the Bike!Bike! Southeast! website for more information.
