It can take a long time, but you're so right that it's much less stressful and without those 2 crazy pre-flight hours at the airport (and packing stress with 3 oz. bottles!), I can really enjoy the travel process and read and write and nap and visit the dining car and have a meal on a white tablecloth! Everyone is either going to suck it up and buy the cheapest plane ticket they can or drive if the distance isn't too bad.
