Spermicide or not, I still love my coke for its distinctive taste but it never occured to me that it may be a sperm-killer let alone an effective one.

Urban legend has it that it may certainly have those properties and I like the way Gavin puts it – anything goes.

How’d they find that out about Coke anyway?

Yes, it should be noted that these are mock scientific prizes. Soda may have some spermicidal properties, but then again just about everything is a spermicide–even time!

The article now hopefully makes it clear that partners should NOT rely on soda douches as a form of contraception.

In fact, douches may even push sperm from the sperm pool (which gathers after sex) toward the egg… certainly not achieving the desired effect.

because we all get taught in highschool (Europe) that it is just one of the many myths, and using the cola-douche WILL GET YOU PREGNANT.

Cola is definitely NOT a spermicide, not matter what kind of wishfull thinking you add to it.

Use the goo that was designed to do this job.
(the stuf called “spermacide”, not the stuf labelled “softdrink”)

Only drinking cola instead of having sex might help.

With the extreme low level of sexeducation around the globe, this is one story that should not be encouraged.
