LSU to Focus on Sustainability
As part of its Earth Day observations next week, Louisiana State University plans to hold its first-ever conference on sustainability.
Hosted by LSU’s Environmental Conservation Organization, the conference is scheduled to run from Monday, April 21, through Friday, April 25, as part of the university’s third annual environmental festival. Earth Day is on Tuesday, April 22.

Among the programs planned for the conference are daily forums on environmental issues such as Louisiana’s ecosystems, waste reduction and healthy foods; a gardening exhibit; a dinner discussion with representatives from Doctors Without Borders; and a bike workshop at The Bicycle Shop. A keynote speaker will also attend the festival to talk about Louisiana’s environment and recovery efforts.
On Friday, festival organizers also will present an EcoShowcase of exhibits and representatives from LSU’s recycling department and various Baton Rouge community groups.
